Remodel unused bathtub

For those who only have to dust their bathtub: A tip on how to remodel the unused bathtub.

Since neither my husband nor I bathe in the tub, but prefer to take a shower (in the separate shower), I was increasingly annoyed by the space that the tub takes away. In addition, she dusted pretty much too. A bathroom renovation was out of the question.

We have now bought in the hardware store two kitchen worktops (each 25 €), which have a pattern like old limed wood. Fits very well with the bahama beige tub and does not have such a "kitchen pattern".

Two plates because the tub is 0.80 m deep and the plates only 0.60. 80s plates are very expensive. At the hardware store, we had one panel cut to the appropriate length (cost nothing) and the other a strip of 10 cm. The rest can still be used for other purposes. Then the larger plate on the front of the tub, the strip behind. You do not see the jolt, there's something on it.

Then I put an already existing Ikea shelf on it. My husband then fixed the shelf with 2 - 3 screws. If the fields of the shelf are granted, you can see the fittings behind it no more. We find this solution very nice and we have more space in the bathroom. We used to have a rattan shelf in front of the tub for towels, etc. Just took a seat. In front of the (new) shelf, you can sit down great, z. For example, to put on socks ... I hope you like my tip! Oh yes, of course you can not swim anymore ...
