Clean old records

Old records scratch because they are totally dusty. Deep in the grooves are the Dust-villains. There are cleaning cloths and liquids to remove them. There is also an expensive ultrasound machine that cleans the plates.

I do it with hot water, Spüli, bamboo cloth in a plastic tub. A fine microfiber cloth is also suitable. I gently rub the plate in a circle with the cloth. Then I rinse the plate under the tap with clear water. Then I put them on a towel, dab drops of water and let them dry.

No fear! Vinyl is plastic. And plastic can be cleaned in a water bath. Of course, gentle and with feeling. My old records have become wonderfully clean and sound great.
