Wool ball holder - reuse old DVD spindle

Dear knit and crochet friends! Have you ever been annoyed that the wool yarn is chipped off and ends up in the dust under the bed? Did your cat ever steal the ball when you looked at the TV, and then frayed individual threads in the middle?

Or have you ever bought a knitting yarn, as I recently, which is very nice and soft, tip for a summer sweater suitable, but a horror to roll, because every inch rolls and so a knot is inevitable?

Then I have now for all of you a good solution, after I have looked at a part of a well-known shopping website and the shipping costs are more than the good piece costs - also "not in stock" is ...:

Reuse old DVD spindles!

Take the spindles away from your husband, preferably those for 100 pieces of DVD / CDs. Equal with lid, if so, because!

On the spindle you can put on yarns and balls of wool or even the crochet yarn with cardboard inlay very well. To do this, feel with one finger on the sides into the inside of the ball and look for the approximate middle as they were wound. Stretch it out a bit and then put the ball on the spindle (as in the photo attached).

Now nothing can happen, the ball sits tightly on it, but can still turn, because the surface of the spindle is smooth.

For extension, you can make a hole in the lid on the side and top. The thread is then made depending on the winding, type of yarn or size of the yarn on the side or top. Screw the lid back onto the spindle. Have fun with cat-safe, clean knitting and crochet!

This device can be made perfect by weighting the ground so that the spindle is really fixed. You can use a used stone chopping board or similar things to stick the spindle on with super glue. Or you give this task to your husband in the house, then this is busy for a while. Now the spindle is stuck!

I was desperate - I hope this tip makes the round and pleases all Hobbystricker and knitters and crocheters or crochers. (Thus the contribution is tolerably changed according to EU norm.)
