cucumber sauce
Today I found in the pantry an egg-wrapped older (already yellowish) cucumber. It was not rotted, had no bruises, etc., so I thought to throw away too bad.
I then remembered that my grandmother - she had a bigger vegetable garden - often made a cucumber sauce, which always tasted very good to me as a child. I then tried to cook it as much as I remember it. - and? - succeeded!
So here's the recipe:
ingredients
- 1 cucumber
- 1 tbsp butter or margarine
- 1 vegetable soup cube or equivalent amount of powder
- 1/2 cup of sour cream
- 2 tablespoons flour
- Dill herb (fresh or dried)
preparation
- Peel and finely chop the cucumber.
- Meanwhile melt the butter or margarine.
- Add the finely chopped cucumber - crumble the soup cubes and simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour with sour cream and dill and stir to the cucumbers.
- Let cook something possibly seasoning. The cucumber sauce is ready.
Cooked potatoes, then it's a vegetarian light meal.
Would also fit with meat dishes or grilled meat. Do I have to try it?
Good succeed!
