Daffodils: Do not buy closed buds with brown tips

To avoid bad luck when buying daffodils you should be careful not to buy daffodils with closed buds and brown tips.

Nearly every florist has daffodils like thick chives in cardboard boxes. Mostly very cheap, the federal government between 50 cents and 1 euro. But even that is too much money, if the daffodils do not bloom, not even with the help of removing the little pellets that cover the flower.

I have learned from experience now and do not buy daffodils whose tips are light brown. These are obviously too long in the dry and are over.

The daffodils must be strong green, then you have two days later, a beautifully blossomed bouquet of these little suns.
