Engrave jewelry at the shoemaker / spare key maker
I wanted to give away a silver bangle, the day before the gift delivery came to mind - a personal engraving would be nice.
I phoned all jewelry shops in my city, but they could not help me on such short notice. Then someone gave me a hint: A shoemaker who also engraves trophies for clubs, would do that. I went and engraved two words in the afternoon.
When asked if all shoemakers could and did, he said that many also have locksmiths and the necessary tools and would also do engravings.
It was new to me, I would have gone with my request always to the goldsmith or silversmith. I realize this tip will not be needed often - but if it does, it's useful.
