EU General Data Protection Regulation enters into force on 25.5.18

In the last few days, many emails have reached me saying that the sender has changed his privacy policy. This has to do with the entry into force on 25/5 of the new EU General Data Protection Regulation. I always read these amended privacy statements accurately, even if they are often very long.

Important points of the EU-DSGVO are for me z. B. the "right to be forgotten", that is, that data is not stored forever and when you z. For example, changing a provider of a cloud, you can take his entire files with the new provider. This right is a very important point of the new basic regulation. Rules that are relevant to a website must be followed by the company. If a user's data has been forwarded to third parties and the user wants to delete this data, companies are obliged to forward this instruction for data deletion.

The liability risk for companies will increase significantly, because now also for moral damages must be adhered.

For me, the most important thing about the SPC is that the fines for infringements can be increased significantly and can well be in the range of 10-20 million euros or the annual income of the company, if it is an organization, 2 - 4 % of sales from the previous fiscal year.

Certainly, the new General Data Protection Regulation contains much more regulations and regulations.

I have named the Most Relevant for me and I hope that all users read attentively the changed privacy statements sent to them. This is the only way to counteract this in the case of data misuse.
