Preparation time: 10 min.
Cooking or baking time: 20 min.

Mehlspatzen - fast, cheap and very good :-)

Ingredients for about 4 servings

  • 500g flour
  • 3-4 eggs (depending on size)
  • salt
  • Milk or soda

preparation

  1. Fill a large (eg noodle) pot half to three quarters with water, bring to a boil and then add 1-2 teaspoons salt into it.
  2. In the meantime in a bowl? It's easier and faster with a food processor? Mix the flour with 1 teaspoon of salt and the eggs and then slowly add milk or sparkling water (I prefer it because it makes the sparrows looser) until a medium-strong, rather viscous dough is formed.
  3. With a tablespoon of this dough, cut off the dumplings / cams and add to the boiling salted water. Switch the heat to the lowest heat and simmer for about 15 minutes.
  4. Then drain into a sieve or remove from the water with a slotted spoon.
  5. If you like, you can now swing the sparrows in butter in a pan or bake until crispy and / or add 1-2 beaten eggs (let it falter).

This fits very well, for example:

  • Cucumber salad (with a lot of sour cream dressing)
  • Leek vegetables (with a lot of cream sauce)

Get fed up, go fast, is really cheap and just super delicious :-)
