Grandma's Brandteig potatoes - the best croquettes in the world!
Grandma's Brandteig potatoes were only available on special occasions. Not because they are expensive or difficult to prepare, they are just really delicious :-)
ingredients
- 250 ml of milk
- salt
- nutmeg
- 1 tsp butter
- 150 g of flour
- 2-3 eggs
- 250 g of grated potatoes
- Fat for baking.
preparation
- Bring the milk with the spices and the butter to the boil, add the flour all at once and beat with a mixing spoon until a lump dissolves from the pot. Remove from the stove and let cool.
- Gradually beat the eggs until the dough is very even and shiny, then stir in the grated potatoes evenly.
- Cut off dough dumplings with two teaspoons and fry in hot fat while the dough dumplings form themselves into balls. The best way is of course in a deep fryer, is in medium heat but also in a pot possible. The finished potato balls are then lifted out with a metal skimmer.
- Drain on kitchen paper or a napkin and place in a bowl.
Just super delicious, the best croquettes that are there ;-)
