Homemade apple juice

I have 3 apple trees that are rich in apples every year. For pressing, I drive to our neighboring village and support a friend there who has a large hydraulic press. It's always fun and very cheap.

I usually get out so 35 liters of juice, which I fill in appropriate juice jars. At home, I would like to preserve the juice.

How did I go the first time? Very easily:

First, appropriate vessels had to come here. Since I was not ready to buy expensive Einkochflaschen, came to me the idea in the empties shop around the corner "Flensburger beer bottles" to get.

Of course you can also drink beer first and then use your own. The seller was surprised that I had purchased empties, but the bottles are perfect.

The first time I've gotten all the bottles from the label, soaked, etc. The bottles are perfect for cooking because they have a rubber stopper closure.

Then in the dishwasher and everything was nicely cleaned. The rest with bottle cleaner. You only have to do this work once to that extent. Then I filled the juice in the bottles. I think the bottles are great because they can hold 0.33 L and you do not have to drink for days on a bottle.

For more thirst I also boiled down in Punica 1 L bottles, because they have the so-called blob closure and can also be boiled.

The bottles are then placed in a steamer heated to 90 degrees where they are boiled for 20 minutes. The time is enough, which has shown my previous Einkocherfahrung.

The juice from last year was still good this year and you can still drink it great. The bottles should be filled up to the top, a small unfilled space may remain. There is a vacuum anyway after boiling and everything is stable.

Then you can put everything back in beer boxes and so has apple juice for a long time depending on your thirst.

Later this year, I was able to dilute my juice half with water by the sweetness of the apples, so I always had a delicious homemade apple spritzer.

I can use the bottles every year now. Immediately after consumption, I clean them and let the stopper off, so that no mold forms in it.

Nevertheless, they will be well rinsed again next year. Of course, the whole thing is labor intensive, but who cares about health and how I do not like the apples so much and would like to make something meaningful from its fruit, should try it.

Of course, cider goes if you let it ferment, but I do not like it that way.
