We, too, were astonished. About 4 weeks ago, our cat could no longer pee and the examination in emergency service with subsequent treatment - express bladder, x-ray, rinsing bladder several times, antibiotics ..... was not cheap. The vet then told us that he would tell any cat owner who wants to have his cat or cat neutered that switching to cat food for neutered cats makes sense to avoid such trouble as we had.
So better again ask the vet and at least, if not from the vet, then feed already premium food for free urinary tract. No one informed us about the consequences of castration, which cost us dearly.
