Just swipe the floor quickly
Oh damn - visit has announced at short notice. Too little time to wipe the floors thoroughly!?!
Take a flower spray bottle and fill it with water or, better still, with a mild detergent solution and spray it with the soil. Then wipe briefly with the mop. However, this works well only if the soil is reasonably dust and crumb free and not too dirty, otherwise there are ugly strips of plaster.
Of course, this tip does not save the thorough wiping, but helps once over embarrassing moments away.
