Keep roller shutter belt from tearing

Who has ever torn a roller shutter, knows the effort to collect a new belt: take off the curtain, remove the cover of the box, old belt out and install new belt.

Then fasten the box cover again, if necessary, paint over damaged areas, hang the curtain back on. And without dirt, it is not synonymous.

If you keep an eye on it, you will notice if the belt is scraped off at one or more points and is thin. A total crack can then be prevented as follows:

The thin part (s) are wrapped in insulating tape. The strap must be wide enough to fit just once around the strap, and so high that it completely covers the damaged area. The strap reinforces the strap so it does not shave any further and eventually rips.

Do not worry, the strap slides through the wall slot as easily as before after this procedure, the insulating tape does not brake in any way.

So you have the effort, the dirt and last but not least the costs for the craftsman and a new belt saved.
