Keep the fir fresh
Fir branches for the Advent arrangement stay fresh longer if they are dipped at the interfaces in liquid candle wax.
Christmas tree or fir branches will stay fresher if they stand in a wet sand pot until they are brought into the house. Naturally, the tree is kept fresh longer in plastic than in the net.
In the house add 100 ml of glycerin as humectant to 1 l of water in the water for the branches or the tree. If the Christmas tree or branches can not stand in the water, put the greens in the water-glycerin mixture for at least a few hours and then wipe the interfaces with wound wax (gardener) or simply take candle wax.
