Nettle spinach

Slowly it will probably be spring again this year and the first stinging nettles will stand out. This is a good opportunity to make a fine nettle spinach.

So if you go for a walk in the great outdoors, always carry a small linen bag and - at least - a glove. A small pair of scissors is not a disadvantage.

So you cut the tender Bennesselblätter on the way and fill his Sackerl. Please do not necessarily on the motorway center strip or other busy roads!


At home, the leaves are washed off briefly and then blanched for about 1/2 to 1 minute.

Glaze finely chopped onions in a little olive oil, the blanched nettle leaves - eventl. Slightly chopped - add seasoning with salt and pepper and nutmeg (very important!).

And you have a (almost) free and natural vegetables on the plate. You can also mix it under spaghetti or even turn it on as a salad.
