Prevent bird nests with fishing line
For years we had a miserable mess with the nests at the house and also, wake up the animals in the morning.
In order to prevent nests, you can stretch between the beams (on which the swallows build their nests) about 7 rows of transparent fishing line (with thumbtacks or similar fasten).
The birds do not come to the beams that form the corners into which the birds want to build their nests. Since then we have our peace and the house is free of nests. It's expensive, but it's worth it.
You only need fishing line, thumbtacks and a ladder (and our house has ground floor and first floor, was just a big ladder or lift, maybe someone has friends in the fire department;)).

In the whole years, not a single bird has been injured or caught. The birds notice that and then stay away from it at some point.
