Ripen bananas

I usually buy green bananas, which are then relatively fast, after a few days, which have perfect maturity for me.

But I've never had that before: the bananas just did not want to turn yellow. Day-long wait, nothing. Then researched tips on how to ripen. Of course first at TheFruitAndFlowerBasket.com. Unfortunately, there was not yet the right tip, which will change now.

Somewhere on the net, I read that apples secrete a ripening gas (ethylene), which ripens other types of fruit faster. It was similar to TheFruitAndFlowerBasket, but not directly to bananas. In addition, my tip goes even further. First I put bananas and apples in a bowl, that's how I read it. Again, nothing happened for a few days. So, then further research, the result:

I packed the bananas in a paper bag and sealed them so that the gas ethylene, which (also) produces the bananas and causes ripeness, nicely encloses the bananas. That should help, but did not help with my stubborn bananas. Then add an apple with it, which also gives this ripeness ... you may guess ... the bananas remained green.

Well, now I've cut through the apple, put half of it with the bananas in the paper bag and closed well. The result after about 2 days, was great. Finally I could enjoy the ripe bananas.

So: Green bananas together with a (cut) apple in a paper bag, close well and wait 1-3 days. If you have such stubborn bananas, you can try the tip. ...
