Sew draft excluder yourself

There are apartments with draughty entrance doors. And sometimes you can still hear the sounds from the hallway (city apartment, multi-tenanted house). For such a case I took two old 140x200cm blankets. Something renovation foil and a nice bright fabric. Viiiiel of it, in 1.60 width and 5 m length.

Then I put the Renovierfolie between the cuddly blankets and connected by hand with rough stitches all three layers at intervals as a sofa slip resistant. Few stitches with thicker yarn are enough. Let the foil protrude over the blankets on all sides. Then sew the edges together with the sewing machine. Sew a kind of "duvet cover" out of the bright cover and put in the sewed blankets. Now it is only open at the top. Only there sew the blankets with the light fabric. I had a curtain tape sewn on top and hung thick plastic rings. Above the door hung a curtain rod directly under the wall and the curtain closed the entire door draft-free and sound-absorbing.

Depending on the required door size, you can sew the cuddly blankets inside offset and / or take several or / and cut them. Also you can sewn in sewing the outer cover with one side of the film and thus prevent a move.

With coarse materials such as e.g. Felt is the auach natively suitable for cellar doors. Or in a smaller format for draughty basement windows, which are sealed in winter. It's an elaborate job, but the blankets last forever and the benefits are enormous.
