Swedish baked potato with bay leaves

We love to eat the Swedish version of the baked potato - the Hasselbackspotatis. Depending on my mood, I prepare it without a bowl, sometimes with.

ingredients

  • medium sized potatoes
  • if possible fresh bay leaves (I have a laurel tree)
  • Salt pepper
  • maybe a little soft butter
  • a fireproof shell

preparation

  1. Scratch each potato several times with a sharp knife so that it still holds together below. The best way to do this is to place the potato in a wooden plate with a hollow (see photo).
  2. Brush the cut potato with some soft butter, put a bay leaf in at least every other slot and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Place in a fireproof bowl and bake for about 30 minutes at 200 degrees. The cooking time is of course dependent on the potato size and also the variety!

We like the potatoes very well with steak or grilled meat. Sometimes I rub some freshly grated Parmesan on the plate. ?
