Time

Preparation time: 10 min.
Cooking or baking time: 20 min.
Total preparation time: 30 min.

Although there is already a tip from 2005 for roasted Brussels sprouts, but this is a little different, because this is the Brussels sprouts not cooked at all and thus gets a more pleasant taste!

ingredients

  • Sprout
  • olive oil
  • Caraway, white pepper, salt, a little nutmeg to taste

preparation

The brussels sprouts are first cleaned, eventually the outer leaflets are removed, then washed and halved. The halves are then placed in a coated pan and drizzled with a little olive oil.

Very important: The pan has to be cold so that the florets can cook well! If you put the roses in a hot pan, they burn outside and inside they remain raw.

The pan is now covered and at medium temperature, the florets are lightly fried about 6 to 10 minutes. Then take off the lid, season to taste with cumin, white pepper, salt and a little nutmeg and let it roast for a few minutes until the florets are golden brown and crispy. By frying the sugar from the Brussels sprouts is caramelized, creating a very pleasant taste.

Tip: Adding a few bacon or ham cubes to the Brussels sprouts before they are ready to roast will make the whole thing even more delicious.

This goes well with fried potatoes and fried eggs.
