Upcycling - a skirt from an old sweater
My granddaughter has discovered the joy of sewing and now we dig through the patch box, she has the best ideas - and so do I. But still the thing is rather imperfect and I plead for upcycling.
Since we have now come from the grandpa old sweater in the hands. Especially at the elbows durchgewetzt, but otherwise well preserved.
And now it starts:
- The sweater is cut off below the armholes, the bottom half results in a skirt!
- The actual cuff of the sweater is laid up, and results in the waist or waist, the cutting edge is gezanzelt and umgesäumt.
- Of course you have to get it in shape now.
- You can sew on the waistband and use a wide rubber band, then you have a slightly ruffled skirt.
- You can sew a ribbon behind, put on a rubber and then not only have a ruffled skirt but also a ruffle at the waist.
- You can just sew the side parts closer, if you want a narrow skirt.
- You can cut off the sides at an angle if you want a flared skirt.
- From the rest of the sweater you can cut out and sew on pockets. You can wrap things around, apply all sorts of things - in short, my granddaughter has gone to work with great zeal and what comes out - it can only fit and make fun.
