Use rotary cutter properly

If I want to straighten a long piece of fabric with the rotary cutter (for example, one of 58 cm in length), it can happen that the patchwork ruler shifts to about 30 cm laterally, because my oppressive left hand (I am right-handed) yes Beginning of the ruler is located. The cut would therefore become unusable.

In order to avoid such a shifting of the ruler, one must advance the guide hand step by step. I press at the beginning of the cut, of course, at the level of the rotary cutter on the ruler. But before (!) I lead / push the rotary cutter, I first spread my hand in the direction of the cut, between the thumb and middle finger, then I press it firmly back onto the ruler. Only then do I continue the cut, so move the rotary cutter a bit further. Now it starts again from the beginning: First spread your hand and move forward, then cut the next centimeter ... So again and again S-S: SPREIZEN - CUTTING ...

Unfortunately, in my video, the ruler has slipped in the last few inches despite this technique, but this is due to the zipper zipper, from which the ruler has unfortunately slid sideways. You could say that I could have put the ruler 180 degrees from the outside to the material to be cut and would not have had to place it on the slider, but then I could have measured much worse, how many inches of the fabric cut off to be ...
