Use the remainder of the soap bar

I'm still one of those who use soap in a row for showering, bathing or washing hands. To make use of the last remainder of the bar, I do it in a washcloth / wash mitt. There's still enough foam left to shower with it once or twice, and I do not have to throw away the little pots.

Gallerist: Surely a good tip - thumbs up!

I also use a lot of "bar soap", but do it a bit differently to avoid soap residue.
If the soap has become very small and can no longer "handle", I soften the remaining pieces for about 10 minutes in water. If the surface is nice and slippery, I simply "glue" the slippery rest on the new soap bar and let it dry. So then the remaining piece can be used together with the new soap bar.

Whether you find it practical, or not, everyone should decide for themselves.
