Wet food for cats in heat
Cat owners know the feeding problem on hot days: Our cat is a freezer, gets through cat flaps in the house and is used to always find food in his bowl. He has no fixed feeding times and eats wet food several times a day.
At normal temperatures, it is no problem to feed the contents of a sachet; on these hot days, however, the remaining food dries up too fast and is denied. Wet food directly from the fridge is too cold, heating in the microwave is also not practical.
I do it this way: Our cat eats a certain type of food, of which I only feed one teaspoon with a few drops of water directly, distribute the rest on small doses (eg freezer boxes for herbs), and keep them in the refrigerator.
The small portion he eats up right down to the last little crumb.
As soon as he has eaten, I take the next portion from the fridge. So she gets up to the next small hunger to room temperature and can be fed.
The small meals also get him better health, as he often had to vomit in the heat after eating.
