Apple strudel

Here is a delicious recipe that is really easy to prepare. With little effort you bake an apple strudel like grandma or nuts. Here we go:

ingredients

Dough:

  • 300 g of flour
  • 75 g of butter
  • 1/8 l of milk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 80 g of melted butter to coat the dough pieces

filling

  • 750 g apples
  • 50g sugar
  • Butter for the casserole or roast bread
  • 200 ml of cream
  • 200 ml of milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar

That's how it's done:

Make a dough out of flour, butter, milk and salt (blender or food processor). Let rest. In the meantime peel the apples, quarter them and cut into thin slices.

Divide the dough into four equal pieces. Roll out thinly on flour. The dough sheets should be about 30 by 20 cm in size. Spread the melted butter and cover with the apples. Sprinkle with a little sugar (about 1 tablespoon).

Then fold in the pages and roll up. Place with the turned side down in the buttered form.

Do the same with the other three dough pieces. Brush with the remaining liquid butter. Now off in the hot oven. Approximately bake at 180 degrees for 30 minutes. Now comes the trick: Mix the cream, milk, egg and sugar and sprinkle nicely evenly over the strudel. Continue baking for another 15-20 minutes. The dough should absorb the liquid as much as possible. So, now the apple strudel is finished grandma's way. Enjoy lukewarm or cold. If you like, add vanilla sauce. You can also add a handful of raisins to the filling.

In the past, I did not trust apple strudel, but this recipe is guaranteed to succeed. Always frozen strudel is not the truth. The dough does not need to be rolled out very thin, otherwise it just tears.
