Carrot soup from dried fruits - a very old recipe

The carving soup is cooked from dried fruit, I still know it from my great-grandmother. Already as a child I ate them very much.

Before she falls into oblivion, I got the recipe from my grandmother. Maybe someone else knows the carving soup from childhood and would like to cook it. The soup tastes rather sweet and was served by my grandma mostly for dessert.

ingredients

Everything as dried fruit or baked fruit:

  • 250 g of mixed dried fruit or if you buy everything extra
  • 50 g raisins
  • 70 g apricots
  • 80 g plums
  • 60 g apple rings

Also:

  • 65 g of butter
  • about 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 to 3 slices of white bread
  • 2 eggs
  • some cream and sour cream
  • 2 cloves
  • a little bit of citric acid
  • Flour
  • salt

preparation

  1. Dumpling No. 1: From a half glass of flour, an egg, a pinch of salt and a spoonful of cream, a dough is made and formed into small elongated dumplings.
  2. Dumpling No. 2: Brown 50 g of butter a little bit, hollow out a piece of white bread and, with the butter and an egg, process it into a not too firm dough and form small round dumplings. These can also be frozen well.
  3. Boil 1.5 liters of water. Cut the apple rings and add to the boiling water.
  4. The broth to your own taste (carefully, dried fruit is already very sweet) with approx., One tablespoon of sugar sweet and with a little butter and two cloves refine.
  5. Now add the apricots and simmer for 2 minutes.
  6. Add raisins and simmer for another 2 minutes.
  7. Then add the dumplings # 1, simmer for 3-4 minutes and finally add the plums and the dumplings # 2. They only need 2 minutes to cook.
  8. Let the soup cool down a little and season with a little cream, sour cream and citric acid.
