Cheese for gratinating with the peeler

When I cook a casserole, there is usually vegetables to be peeled. So I have my peeler anyway in use ... Once a short wash and then plan the sliced piece of cheese and distribute the slices nicely on the casserole.

Depending on the planing technique, you can also get narrower cuts, e.g. sprinkle fine cheese particles over noodles.

It always annoys me when I do this with a big vegetable knife because the cheese sticks to the big blade. With the peeler I have even slices and nothing cardboard :-)

And I do not have to buy (health) finished planed cheese, or even dirt the grater.
