Chia seeds - Ideas for the application

Chia seeds are proven to be healthy and easy to incorporate into the daily diet. Not only in cereals and smoothies, they can be easily used as an ingredient, but also in all sorts of other recipes, you can install them well.

Tip 1

I especially like to do a simple one Overnight Chia Puddingwhich can be served with various fruits both as a breakfast and as a dessert:

  • For this purpose, just 30 g Chia seeds in 125 ml of liquid (depending on the taste of milk, plant drink, etc.) stirred and sweetened with a sweetener of choice. For example, honey, agave syrup or rice syrup are a good match.
  • The pudding can with various ingredients such as cocoa, walnut o. Ä. To refine it: simply stir in a good tablespoon of the ingredient into the liquid.
  • Then the still liquid chia mixture is filled in bowls and put into the fridge overnight - the next day you have a delicious pudding.

Tip 2

Chia seeds are also very light Pull sprouts, which can then be used as an ingredient in salads, soups and other dishes.

  • For this, about 1 - 2 teaspoons of the seeds are sprinkled on a piece of damp kitchen towel in a saucer or flat dish and placed in the sun, z. B. placed on a window sill.
  • Now care should be taken that the chia seeds are always kept moist. But too much water should not be in the shell, otherwise mold could form.
  • After a few days, the seeds start to germinate and after a week, the sprouts are ready and ready for consumption.

Tip 3

Very easily, the chia plant from the Pull seeds, The best time for it is the spring, because it is one year old and can be harvested in the fall.

  • For this, the seeds (sparingly) are sprinkled in a small potty with potting soil. Since chia seeds are light germs, only some soil is scattered over and then moistened.
  • The potty is also placed in a sunny, warm place and kept moist. I like to attach a plastic bag with holes over it, so that the earth is kept even better wet.
  • After a few days you can already see the first seedlings. Once they are about 5-10 cm high, they can be placed individually in larger planters or planted directly in the garden. You like it sunny and waterlogging should definitely be avoided!
  • From July or August, the chia plant will bloom with proper care. Once the flowers have flowered, new seeds can be harvested.
