Christmas decorations: Christmas sheep

It does not always have to be a Santa Claus. For a change, a white sheep is something different. It can be done with some older children (9 years and older) and looks great on the Christmas tree.

The sheep are very easy to produce themselves. For this only a corresponding cookie cutter is necessary. The mold is pressed firmly onto the foam rubber plate. At a thickness of two millimeters, the sheep can not be completely gouged out. Therefore, use a cutter or scissors to cut the rubber-printed form. I did something with the hammer, but then only half of the sheep is gouged out. If you are as over-zealous as I am, and you are really into it, then the shape is suddenly bent. If you want to use your shape even longer, let the hammer lie better. With a slightly thinner foam rubber, the sheep with the cookie cutter can actually be cut out completely. However, then the sheep is not quite as stable.

When the sponge cake is cut out, the wool is wrapped from the middle of the sheep, around the belly up to the neck and back to the middle. Then wrap from the middle in the opposite direction. If the wool slips too much, some glue can be applied to the sponge cake before winding. Knot the wool ends and sew them with the help of a needle. Then pull the thread to hang on the back of the sheep with a needle through the sheep's wool and knot the ends of the thread.

This is needed:

  • Foam mat white (30 x 40 cm, thickness: 2 mm) is enough for 16 pieces
  • Cream-colored wool (42% alpaca, 22% mohair, 36% polyamide)
  • Cookie cutter sheep 8 cm
  • Thread for hanging
  • Scissors and needle (with big eyelet)
