Devil's bread - heavenly delicious

For about 10 servings you need:

ingredients

  • 750 g finely chopped (for example from chicken, pork or turkey mince schnitzel)
  • 2 (red) onions, cut into half rings
  • 1-2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 3 red peppers, cut into fine strips
  • 1 bunch of spring onions, cut into rings
  • 1 tube of tomato paste
  • 1 fresh chili pepper, finely chopped (or chili flakes or cayenne pepper or harissa paste or tabasco - depending on the desired degree of severity and what you have there)
  • 1/2 - 1 glass / bottle of chili / shish kebab or ajvar (which is in the house)
  • tomato ketchup
  • Soy sauce
  • Salt, pepper, paprika
  • 1 slice of bread per serving (preferably a rustic farmer's bread)

preparation

Sauté the finely chopped meat in portions in oil, then pour into a saucepan or bowl and season well with salt, pepper, paprika and a dash of soy sauce, stir and let rest.

In the meantime, sauté the onion rings with the garlic in the pan, then add the pepper strips, spring onions and chili pepper (or other pungent) and cover with a lid over medium heat for about 10-15 minutes.

Then stir in the tomato puree, chili / shish kebab and / or ajvar and some ketchup (+ possibly a small dash of water) and finally add the sauteed meat and leave to simmer together for 10 minutes on a low heat again, if necessary season again ,

Important: the sauce must not be too thin, the consistency must be rather viscous, and should be the name already reasonably fair, so be spiced accordingly fiery ;-)

Meanwhile, the (slightly thicker sliced) bread slices from either side either in a pan with plenty of butter crispy brown roast (= ME-GA-delicious, but unfortunately many calories!) Or in the toaster, grill, oven ... (= fat free, but also very delicious) nice crunchy toast.

Per portion then on a plate, a roasted bread slice with the warm devil-meat-vegetable mixture cover - and, if you like, can then cover the whole thing with cheese and baked (if necessary, take oven-safe plate).

Perfect for a nice cold beer :-)
