Grill hamburger with top heat instead of frying

I like to eat hamburgers for my life, but annoy me every time I have to eliminate the splatters after frying the patties. That's why I recently tried the following:

Patties prepared as usual (ground beef mixed with salt and pepper and pressed in Pattieform).

Then the upper grill of my oven is heated. A pizza tray taken, put a slightly larger pizza screen in the middle and put the patties on it. (Pizza umbrellas made of aluminum, are available in different diameters in the single digit euro range in household shops to buy, as well as Pizza dishes)

Put everything together on the baking tray of my oven and then put it on the top rail of my oven (very close to the almost red-hot grill bars).

Grill the patties for 3 minutes, then turn and grilling for another 3 minutes.

Finally, the burgers finished as usual.

After the meal (the most important thing always first), wash the pizza screen and the pizza tray (and not the frying pan, the hob, and the tiles around it)

A few advantages of this method over the method with the frying pan:

The cleaning is easier, in case of doubt Pizzascreen and -Blech simply in the dishwasher.

You do not need any more fat except the one that is already in the pattie anyway.

The grill bars are (at least in my oven) operated with less energy than the stove, thereby saving electricity.

Any leaking liquid from the patties comes down and drips on the pizza plate. The patties do not swim in a fat-gravy mix.

The show effect friends and acquaintances opposite, which have not yet seen this cooking method is not to be underestimated;)

Personally, and my buddies, my hamburgers now taste better than ever.

Of course you (if you want to imitate it) would have to experiment a little with the cooking times, e.g. how thick are the patties, how crudely do you want them and whether you want them more or less through.
