Vanillekipferl - sometimes different

Total preparation time: 1 hr. 5 min.

These vanilla crisps are made with hazelnuts instead of almonds. They are not quite as tender, but very good in taste.

Ingredients for 2 plates

  • 250 g wheat flour
  • 180 g of butter
  • 100 g of ground hazelnuts
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 pinch of salt

The ingredients are made into a dough that is put in the fridge to rest for 30 minutes.


Then you make small Kipferl, you do this small rolls, which are then bent.

Place this Kipferl on a sheet of paper lined with baking paper (or in this quantity on 2 plates) and bake at 180 degrees not too dark. It takes 10-15 minutes. They should have a golden yellow color.

Wait a few minutes, gently unscrew from the tin and roll in a mixture

  • 100 g of powdered sugar and
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar

Then let cool the Kipferl on a grid.
