Hamburger brown cake

These biscuits are for me since my childhood to Advent and Christmas. They taste best on a slice of fine bread with butter.
And here is the recipe:
ingredients
- 500 g of brown sugar
- 500 g dark cake syrup
- 500 g of butter or margarine
- 1500 g of flour
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 packet of gingerbread spice (there are 8 small bags!)
- 15 g staghorn salt
- 10 g potash, dissolved in a little water
preparation
- Mix the sugar, syrup and butter in the pan while stirring gently until the sugar has dissolved.
- In the cooled mass then kneaded flour, cocoa and the spices.
- Form the well-kneaded dough into rolls and let it rest for at least a day.
- Then about 0.5 cm thick slices are cut off the rolls and placed on a baking tray. Not too tight, because the biscuits often split during baking.
- I bake the cookies for about 12 - 15 minutes at 160 ° (hot air)
