Magnesium in teeth grinding / pressing (bruxism)

So here's my very first tip: Unfortunately, like so many, I'm one of those who often handle stress at night. I have been grinding my teeth for some time now or pressing them together. In the worst phases also during the day.

For some years now, I have had a bite splint that I regularly wear at night to protect my teeth and alleviate the pressure.

Unfortunately I had a lot of stress in the last years and got pain, despite a bite splint. I was therefore 3 times in relatively short intervals with my dentist, but she could see on the x-ray image no damage, only that my jaw is very tense. On the right side stronger than on the left side, then there is always the pain that pulls to the ear.

Now I had this case again a few days ago. After a few days I was already desperate - how to relax on command? Until I got a simple idea:

I do a lot of sports and so I have too magnesium (Effervescent tablets, but also normal for swallowing) in the house - should be good for muscle relaxation (which is also the case with me) - which would then also help with the jaw muscle. So I took 2 tablets over two days - and behold, since yesterday I am again pain free.

Maybe there is a need for further self-testing, whether it was actually magnesium - but the next crunch is bound to come. And it's definitely worth a try if nothing else helps (heat etc. did not help me).

Good luck and, hopefully, relaxed nights!
