Make Easter decorations: chicks and bunnies

The weather does not necessarily invite to great outdoor activities. That's why I made chicks and bunnies for the Easter weekend on the weekend.

For this it is needed:

  • Wool in beige and yellow
  • cardboard
  • scissors
  • box cutter
  • Felt in red, brown and yellow
  • self-adhesive wiggle eyes
  • darning needle
  • craft glue

This is how it's done:

  1. From the cardboard four rings are made with a diameter of 8 cm and four rings with a diameter of 5 cm, so recorded and then best cut out with the carpet knife. The inner ring should be about 2 cm smaller.
  2. Now each 2 equal sized cardboard discs are superimposed. The cardboard discs are now wrapped with the wool, whereby I always cut about 3 m long threads and make sure that no gaps are created and the thread ends overlap.
  3. The wool is wrapped around the ring until it is completely filled. Then, either with the carpet knife (I prefer a narrow cutter knife) or a very sharp scissors directly on the edge of the wool cut through. In the gap between the two cardboard discs, a thread is then inserted and knotted several times. Then the two cardboard discs can be cut open and the pompons are brought into shape, so they are "trimmed" with the pair of scissors. I also roll the pompoms to get them into shape.
  4. Now a 5 cm and an 8 cm pompom are sewn together, using a thick darning needle, into which the wool can easily be threaded. Pull the thread between the two parts several times, then knot tightly.
  5. From felt you cut out the beak, the wings, the bunny ears and paws and the mouth for the bunny, put them with a drop of craft glue on the pompoms in the appropriate place and also attaches the self-adhesive Wackelaugen.
  6. Just a bit straightened and already I had a little surprise for my neighbor, with whom I am also a friend.

She was happy about it and that's what counts, right?
