Make pearls yourself

Beautiful patterned pearls for z. For example, you can make a necklace yourself.

You need:

  • thick drinking straws or
  • for thinner pearls, straws for cake lollies or Q-tips
  • Threads (star twine or very thin wool)
  • Uhu craft glue
  • napkins glue
  • soft brush
  • scissors
  • and some skill

This is how it's done:

First, the drinking straw is coated thinly with Uhu craft glue. I do that with my finger. Then hold the thread at the bottom of the straw and start wrapping. If you take Star Twist, you can wrap several threads at once.

You always wind backwards and forwards at a slight angle. When the pattern is ready, let it dry. The stalk does not necessarily have to be completely wetted with threads. But then pay attention to the color of the straw, this should match the threads in color.

You can accelerate the drying process with a hair dryer. After drying, the whole is coated again with the napkin adhesive. This is best done with a soft brush. Let it dry again.

Now you can cut the stalk into pieces and you have cool patterned beads that look very nice on a leather strap. (Or a shoe lace).

You only need a few beads for a necklace.
