Marble Cake (Gugelhupf) | TheFruitAndFlowerBasket TV

I like to make this marble cake with melted chocolate because it is really quickly stirred together and I think it looks very nice too.

Austria is very well known for its good pastries. This simple but very good recipe comes from Austria.

We like to eat it for breakfast or coffee in the afternoon. He does not taste too sweet. We find him just right. If you like sweeter, you can increase the amount of sugar to about 250g. Or you glaze it later after cooling with apricot jam and chocolate glaze, it is also sweeter.

After 2 days, this marble Gugelhupf only really crumbly. Unfortunately, we only manage a few pieces with us.

Now for the recipe. I wish you good luck!

Unfortunately, I promised myself in the video. Right is 125ml of oil and 125ml of water.

ingredients

  • 5 eggs
  • 200 g of granulated sugar
  • 125 ml of oil
  • 125 ml of water
  • 1 pack of baking soda
  • 1 pack of vanilla sugar
    300 g of universal flour
  • grated lemon peel to taste
  • 150 g of chocolate

preparation

  1. Stir 5 egg yolks and 100 g of granulated sugar until foamy, then slowly stir in 125 ml of oil and 125 ml of lukewarm water and add grated lemon peel to taste.
  2. Mix 300g of universal flour with 1kg of vanilla sugar and 1 packet of baking powder.
  3. Beat 5 egg whites with 100 g granulated sugar until snowy.
  4. Then halve the mass and mix a portion with melted chocolate.
  5. For top and bottom heat, bake at 160 degrees for about 1 hour.

So you get the Gugelhupf unscathed from the form:

  1. Allow the cake to cool for about 1 hour.
  2. Place a dinner plate on the shape and topple the shape.

When it is completely cooled, sprinkle with icing sugar lightly. Or who likes it very sweet: now glaze with apricot jam and cover with chocolate glaze.
