Pear compote with sago

Today I remembered that in my childhood there were often desserts with sago, but I have never prepared anything with it.

Recently, I could not pass a large bag of ripe pears for the Feierabenddumpingpreis and had all the ingredients in the house to my poor steady rain mood to stand up and to save the day with sweet Soulfood.

ingredients

  • Pears, preferably ripe or overripe
  • water
  • vanilla sugar
  • to taste raisins
  • Sago (amount depends on water requirement and number of pears)
  • 4-5 cloves
  • 1 stick of cinnamon
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 bag of vanilla pudding

preparation

  1. Boil the water with sugar, cloves, cinnamon stick, star anise and vanilla sugar.
  2. Add downshift, and peeled, pitted and minced pears, possibly add a few raisins.
  3. Mix sago with a bag of vanilla pudding and stir.
  4. Simmer on a low heat, stirring constantly, until the sago becomes transparent.
