Paint easter eggs
It does not have to be messy with Easter eggs. Completely relaxed and meditative you can paint Easter eggs with crayons or wax colors. You can work at your own pace. One can interrupt the painting at any time, e.g. when the phone rings, and resume later.
With crayons directly on the eggshell
- White or brown eggs are suitable. On the first try, I would take a hard-boiled egg. It is synonymous with blown eggs, because you must not press too hard.
- Geometric patterns in two to three colors can produce interesting effects.
- For example, paint with a color a network of straight lines or curves or spirals and paint with one or more other colors, the surfaces in between until the whole egg shell is covered.
- When painting curves, make sure that the pin guide corresponds to the circular arc that corresponds to the natural movements of the hand and wrist.
- The finished painted egg shines beautifully, if you gently rub it off with a cloth on which you have given a few drops of oil.
Paint on primer with colored pencils
- Blown eggs become harder when painted with liquid paint mixed with some bird sand / decosand or glitter. As a liquid color, I take e.g. Poster colors or school paints. There are also craft shops that have colors that already contain glitter or sand.
- Spit blown eggs on shashlik skewers. Apply the paint with a brush and let it dry. We also re-primed eggs that the children had painted in previous years because they no longer liked the original painting. Every color layer makes the eggs harder.
- After drying, the so-primed eggs can be further decorated with a colored pencil. If the color is dark, white pencil is also suitable. The crayon reveals glitter and the egg glistens in the areas where the crayon was painted. (See pictures 6 and 7).
- With a good sharpened colored pencil you can paint very fine patterns. The patterns are always more precise than with the brush. That's fun for kids too.
