Use crumbed apples and oranges as decoration
I often feel like I'm getting a fruit flash and buying so much that it often gets crumpled until it's eaten. Of course you can make apple pie from shrively apples, but you can also use them as decoration.
Slice the apples and / or oranges, place on a paper towel and let them dry on the heater. When they are dry, they are great as decoration or for Advent / Herbstgestecke.
You can also hang them with a string on the Christmas tree.
Unfortunately, it is not permanent decoration. It lasts about 3 months, then the apple slices are brownish and look no longer beautiful. The oranges are getting dark.
Incidentally, it also works with lemons, but unfortunately they do not stay yellow, but rather become quite dark when they are dry.
