Plum Chutney

Plum or plum chutney, prepared quickly and delicious - there is something delicious in winter too.

Ingredients:

Approximately 1 kg plums, it does not necessarily have to be the sweetest
1 medium red onion
5 tbsp water
2 level EL dark balsamic vinegar
3 tablespoons port
4 tbsp brown sugar
1 bay leaf
1 piece of ginger
1 small clove of garlic
1 star anise
1 kl. Piece of cinnamon
1 carnation
3 pimento grains
Pinch of chili
Scuffed peel of a lemon or orange.
From the orange you can also take the orange fillets (skinned).


Preparation:

Core the plums and cut lengthwise into approx. 6 columns and then cut across approx. 2 x. Onion into small cubes, as well as the ginger and the garlic clove.

Boil water with balsamic vinegar, port and sugar, add the prunes, onion and spices. Simmer for about 30 minutes - do not forget to stir, otherwise it can start.

Possibly. Season with a pinch of salt and pour hot into clean, rinsed off twist-off jars and turn upside down to cool.

1/2 glass was plastered immediately along with grilled chicken breast fillet - delicious. The color also looks stunningly beautiful. Will try it together with goat or sheep's cheese, the station wagon is certainly great.
