Time

Preparation time: 25 min.
Cooking or baking time: 25 min.
Total preparation time: 50 min.

For a long time I have been keen on a pressure cooker, but I could not afford a good one yet. Now I have the opportunity to try such a pot as part of a test program of FM. My first dish is this pork goulash.

ingredients

  • 1 kg pork goulash
  • 2 large onions
  • 500 g of fresh mushrooms
  • 1 pepper
  • 3 toes of garlic
  • Mustard and tomato paste
  • Salt, pepper, paprika powder
  • 200 g cream
  • some small gherkins

preparation

  1. The meat is sautéed in portions in some coconut oil in the pressure cooker. When it has taken color, take it out and put it aside.
  2. Now add the onions, mushrooms, garlic and the chopped peppers.
  3. Let it all sip well, add the sautéed meat, season with salt, pepper and paprika, tomato paste and mustard and douse with water or, if you like, with wine until everything is lightly covered with liquid.
  4. Now the pot is closed according to instructions and set the cooking level. After about 20 minutes the goulash is finished cooking.
  5. After the pot has evaporated and opened, I put in the cream and the pieces of gherkin and let it rise again briefly, done.
  6. As a side dish I chose boiled potatoes and carrots swung in butter.

The pressure cooker still has a steamer insert, where you can cook vegetables and potatoes at the same time. But this time I have separated it, because I have to get used to my new pot.

I am astonished by the short cooking time and how easy everything went. If you cook daily, so you have safe power savings.
