Radically decimate mourning mosquitoes

"Decimating because: Destruction is only possible if EVERYTHING on organic substrate is removed from the apartment / house. After reading these vast amounts of partly crazy nonsense here, I let myself be carried away to share with others suffering from my years of experience in the fight against these parasites.

Mourning gnats are the worst pest that you can catch. Not because it causes great damage, but because you can not get rid of it, EGAL which measures are taken. And I know what I'm talking about, except plasma, nuclear resources and fire I've got everything through what you can imagine.

The problem with sciarid mosquitoes is that there are 3 different stages that ALL have to be tackled individually. If you do not, a stage will survive and the circle will close. For five years I have been fighting against the blackheads mosquitoes and as I said, I have everything through what is somehow ethically defensible, whereby laws are mocked and laughed at, also chemical hammers abroad (which are produced in Germany) in some extreme concentration (30 - overdosed) did not help. I have left the substrate in the dark for months, surviving the funereal gnats in absolute darkness without any problems, they survive cold to just above freezing, metabolism is reduced, the cycles are prolonged, movements of the larvae and the sciarids slow down considerably, but circulation remains. I've been flooding the medium for weeks with the heaviest of chemicals, keeping it completely dry for weeks, bringing nothing, in any way, mourning mosquitos always adapt. Either they wait, or they become resistant. And from the outside came no new ones, that was ensured. But enough of what has already been tried, what brings success?

Let's start fighting an acute infestation!

Radical damming can be done with the following means

  1. Concerning Amazon you get the big good yellow boards from Celaflor Natures, these are the best, and if you are looking for a long time, you get the 7-pack for 3-5 euros. You get tons of it. These yellow sheets are laid out on one side of the protective film on the substrate, also the area around the plants can be papered with it! Mourning mosquitoes stay mostly on, in, and close to the substrate, so start here and catch the adult parasites most effectively! Is poured regularly with BTI, also prophylactic. You can get at the special shipping BTI in larger containers (including 1 L) than these micropackings from the hardware store and I advise to, because the dosage recommendation is laughable. What do you expect when you put 2 drops (!!) on a watering can? Right, a homeopathic solution, complete nonsense. You throw the stuff into the irrigation water, as if there is no tomorrow, per watering can half a tube (regular hardware store pack 7.99 euros) everything else BRINGS NOTHING. Years of experience. One pours regularly and only with BTI, but makes sure to keep the earth as dry as possible, what z. B. in Carnivoren is not possible. Cacti are a big advantage here. Grenzwertig dry is important here.
  2. Another extremely effective method of destroying adult sciarid mosquitoes is UV fly traps! And yes, they work really and excellently and destroy every adult mourning gnome with a satisfying BANG. Get it on Amazon or eBay (I can recommend the EUROM fly away, be sure to compare prices, sometimes you get them for half the price if you look long enough). They have a bowl underneath that can be emptied every day, so that it can be used as a top indicator along with new (better readable) yellow tablets at fixed intervals to detect up-to-the-minute information on how the currently applied control methods affect the population. One can or should mark each newly hung yellow board with the date of the day, in order to be able to read a course, how many Moorish mosquitoes settle on which yellow board per day. Also, they serve as an initial indicator to be able to respond IMMEDIATELY with all hardness, as soon as even a single Mourning Gnats sticks to a yellow board! Turn one into 200, 200 ... no idea, definitely a lot! You have to react IMMEDIATELY and take all measures, otherwise the population explodes within a few weeks! Of these UV killers 1-2 hang in the apartment, one at ground level, a little further in the air at 1 - 2.50 m in each room one, are suitable for 24 hours operation. Funeral Mosquitoes are always looking for new egg-laying opportunities!
  3. Going on with nematodes Steinernema Feltiae or something, drastically reduce the population within a short time, but need permanently moist soil, at least dry substratum must be avoided at all costs. Must be applied directly to the substrate, without barriers such as filters, replacement substrates o. Ä.which can be complicated in some places (;)) are expensive, but effective, especially in an acute infestation, when the sciarid fly already in the nose and in the eye (yes, that happens if you allow the population -> swarm intelligence, even with such small stupid animals!)

Summary

Yellow sheets and UV killers vs. adult mourning gnats, BTI and nematodes against the larvae. Hardly a herb has grown against the eggs except heat. I am not 100% sure, but I believe that they survive even lasting freezing temperatures, so the eggs are the most vulnerable and should be in third place. The priority is definitely adult mourning gnats and larvae! An excellent way to prevent oviposition is to double or triple the pot with cold frame cover, this light, loose pulp, which is available everywhere for Napple and N Egg, is water- and air-permeable but through the cross-hatching of the fibers so tight that no scary mosquitoes get through! However, it must be meticulously ensured that no gap remains, be it as small as mosquitoes, the mosquito net so long systematically depart until they have found the smallest hole, so also seek scary mosquitoes until they find a way found to the substrate! This is very important! With this method, the circle at the point of the mosquito mosquito can be interrupted very effectively. And after all these measures ... ALWAYS remains a funeral mosquito, which flies somewhere in the apartment ... for weeks, it seems to me, and just waiting for somewhere to lay eggs and everything starts all over again. That is why it is important not to set the goal of complete extermination, that does not work. No way. Only with complete disposal of plants and substrate.

If you read through all the "tips" so here, of people with their 3-Zeilern who stick a match in the ground, the plants spray with disinfectant or spray the root ball with bug spray and then have seen no more mourning mosquitoes ... well , is it clear what I mean? So destroy as many of these parasites as possible, I know these tips will help many. No cause, I also hate those critters like the plague. Skin in!

? (P.s: Substrate flooding, wait, and bless the creeping larvae with a soldering iron ... mhhhhh ... zhhh ...)
