Mourning mosquitoes and mold in potted plants ade

Allow some sprouted soil to dry out completely (just lay it out somewhere and leave it for a few days). When potting a plant again, layer on the "normal" soil layer about 1 cm of this dried out soil.

This layer is so water repellent that it will not get wet even after a long time. And if the earth's surface of houseplants is dry, there can be no mold or the larvae of the blackthorn mosquitoes - and it does not look so "smart". Below it is as humid as always.

To preserve the dryness of the soil, it is best to pour directly into the planter or to make a hole in the dry layer with your finger. But even if you occasionally "normal" pours, the cultivation soil remains dry.
