Remove blood stains from textiles

Blood stains consist of proteins and iron (III) ions (rust) and can be easily removed from textiles.

I always wash out the proteinaceous part of the stains with an enzyme-based detergent.

Then you can reduce the brown iron stains with vitamin C (sprinkle it on and moisten) to soluble iron (II) ions and wash out.

Also goes with citric acid or rust converter (caution phosphoric acid).

Would always test the color fastness before.
