Smellkiller apple
After roasting (for example, potato pancakes smell very intense) you can air, as you know, until you get a fresh air poisoning, it uses nothing! I then cut an apple and put it with the cut surface just up. Nothing is "whitewashed" with other odors but the sliced apple simply absorbs the frying smell. Also, if the smell has moved to other rooms, I just put down a sliced apple. It may take a few hours, but you do not have x different smells in the room.
