Table top floating walnut candles
These small floating walnut candles look nice as a table decoration and are very easy to make.
I just had a lot of walnuts left, and as you know me, my first thought was, what can I make of it? I remembered that a friend of mine sent me a photo of such floating walnuts and they liked me very much, so I set to work.
Material:
- old candles for melting or just tealights
- candlewick
- walnuts
- melt an old container to wax
If you do not have any old candles left to melt, you can just use tealights, because the wick is in there as well.
- I put the old candles in an old yoghurt glass and let them melt in a water bath (instead of that you can soften a tealight in a water bath for a few minutes, slowly remove the wick and press the wax mass into the walnut shells).
- Carefully open the walnuts and hollow the halves of the nut well, now you can fill in the liquid wax and wait a few minutes until it gets firmer, now just put a small piece of wick in the middle.
- Fill a wide bowl with water, light the candles and slowly insert into the water. If you're already at it, it's best to make several, then you always have new supplies.
A nice romantic table decoration. I wish you a lot of fun while copying.
