Sauerkraut with bacon: recipe for a tasty bacon from the pressure cooker.

ingredients

  • 1 glass of sauerkraut
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tbsp lard (leftovers from the Christmas goose)
  • Water or vegetable broth at will or apple juice
  • 80 g lean bacon cubes
  • 1 apple
  • 2 bay leaf
  • 4 cloves
  • 6 peppercorns
  • 6 juniper berries
  • 1 potato

preparation

  1. Peel onion and cut in half. Poke a bay leaf with 2 cloves on each half.
  2. Core the apple and cut into small pieces.
  3. Make lard liquid in the pot.
  4. Add sauerkraut on it.
  5. Pass the apple pieces and the bacon over it.
  6. Press 2 small wells into the herb and put the onion halves with the bay leaves down.
  7. Sprinkle the peppercorns and juniper berries on the herb; DO NOT fold!
  8. Add enough broth or water that you can just see it on the surface.
  9. Cook for 8 minutes at level 2. *

* I always turn off my plate as soon as the first ring appears and pull the pot from the hob. I just let him stand there.

In the meantime, I peel the potato and grate it on the fine raw-food rape. If you can only see a bit of the green ring on the cooking crown, I open the pot and quickly fish the spices out. Then I stir the potato. This binds the herb a bit.

My conclusion to the Fissler pressure cooker

I live as an oldie in the advanced stage in a small 2-room apartment with a small kitchen. Actually, there's zero room for new inventory, but I had to accept the Fissler offer to test the pressure cooker; because I still cook myself - fresh, of course! - and because I'm still curious. But I got a pretty shock when I saw the huge thing! No room in the closet! Absolutely zero !!! "Will Cornelia," I decided ...

But: Cornelia does not come! For vegetables and potatoes "the huge thing" is unbeatable, which concerns time and aroma gain! And soon I'll go back to a big meat stew or beef stew. Can one freeze ...

In the age of every minute is precious! Thank you, Fissler! And thank you, Bernhard!
