Toast Lukullus

A delicious little dish from the unfortunately no longer existing restaurant "Copenhagen" in Berlin on Ku'Damm. Not the original recipe, but that's how I cooked it.

ingredients

  • 4 small lean pork steaks
  • Butter, oil or margarine
  • Salt pepper
  • 4 drained 1/2 peaches from the tin
  • 300 - 350 ml Sauce Bernaise (from the package or homemade)
  • 4 slices of toasted bread

That's how it's done

  1. Fry the 4 small pork steaks in a frying pan with the fat, then season with salt and pepper. Meanwhile, drain the canned peaches. Warm up the Bernaise sauce. Toast slices toast.
  2. Put the slices of toast on a baking tray. Put steaks on the slices of toast. Then put the drained peach halves on the steaks and coat with the warmed Bernaise.
  3. The whole thing now briefly baked under the preheated oven grill (golden yellow, not too long!)
  4. Distribute on the plates, decorate to taste and enjoy!
