Use the egg cutter in a different way

Everyone knows the household appliance with which you can cut hard-boiled eggs into thin slices, the egg slicer. This is now quite a popular tool with me in the kitchen, even if I do quite different things with it:

* It is great for slicing boiled potatoes for fried potatoes. Never again burn your fingers or uneven slices or crumble the potato while cutting
Mozzarella can also be cut into visually very even slices. Just quarter the cheese, once in the harp and ready
* Even when baking cookies, the device has served me well. As well as the known grid to cut the eggs into slices, there is also an additional hollow to quarter an egg.

To do this, I close the egg cutter and press the cookie dough into the bowl. Then I open it and the fine wires pull the formed dough out of the trough (if you start it carefully, the wires do not cut the trough). You will be rewarded with a really VERY pretty shape. Looks in the end, like a master confectioner in elaborate handcraft created confectionery / cookies.

Certainly there are many other good ways to "abuse" this common household appliance. Everything that is soft enough should be tried out there. Oh yes ... I did not cut eggs incidentally with the device;)
